about

In this album I combined field recordings, soundwalks, soundscapes, percurssive improvisations, media samples, (soft)synths, ewi, concrete sounds, the regular and irregular, to compose multi layered Rhythm Scapes.

Rhythm Scapes as constantly changing polyphonic perspectives when we move through the soundscapes of daily live. The reminiscence of sound images of the (recent) past, the silence and (mediated) noises intertwined with our personal embodied rhythms and sounds when we walk or travel. We are all performers using the ambiance as a sensory canvas. We sync our heart beats to the rhythms we like or dislike as we are indoctrinated by the sound patterns, rhythms of our culture, media, sonic heritage in the places where we live and work, the sonic polyrhythmic fabric of our cities or more natural landscapes, the (non) musical rhythms of the rainy weather, the rhythms of climate change and disruptive rhythms of war. In challenging this on a global scale we need unity to build new healthy, peaceful and personal polyphonic perspectives.
